From Academic Integrity to Culture of Consent to Staying Safe Online, these and other explore at your own pace modules provide important information and insights for your academic and personal success at UBC.

The Learning Community (LC) is the heart of Jump Start - a small group of fellow first-year students, all from the same faculty, connected to two upper-year students and a professor. Everyday in Jump Start, youll meet with your LC to explore the academy from a disciplinary perspective, engaging in questions like how to learn at university and how to work alongside professors and students to make your learning meaningful for you. This is your first opportunity to connect with your LC, learn about the upcoming programming at Jump Start, and, most importantly, get to know the people with whom youll share the week and your UBC experience with.

Explore campus with your peers and Orientation Leaders through the lens of your Faculty! Campus Experience is an opportunity for you to familiarize yourself with your future classes, campus, and the opportunities that lie ahead. Be sure to bring your class schedule, as you may get to visit your lecture halls, classrooms, and labs!

The Indigenous Student Welcome Lunch is an exciting opportunity for new and returning Indigenous students to gather and connect over great food. All Indigenous students are welcome to come to one or both of the Lunches being offered this week!

Enjoy your lunch break outside or drop by your Collegium space to relax, play board games, and create crafts with your peers! Each Collegium space is equipped with a full kitchen, including a microwave and sink should you need a space to prepare your lunch.

Your Learning Community (LC) Meet-Up takes place at the start of each day of Jump Start, and it is a chance for you to continue connecting with friends in your Learning Community. Your Leaders will do some community building activities, answer any questions you might have, and make sure you are informed of the events for the day.

Learn how to make informed and thoughtful decisions throughout your undergraduate degree with the guidance of Arts Academic Advising, and understand how we can help you with your academic goals. In this session, you will gain academic planning knowledge that will help you become a successful student, including degree requirement information.

Would you like to connect with LGBTQ2S+ friendly student communities and allies? Then join us for our Get Connected Panel for Queer, Trans, Two-Spirit and Ally students to hear from student panelists sharing their UBC experiences, student advice, and helpful resources! With FREE FOOD and great games, it will be an event to remember.

Choose from a variety of Social Events hosted by Orientation Leaders, UBC Athletics & Recreation, and different clubs within your Alma Mater Society. This is an opportunity to meet new friends based on similar interests while having some fun together!

All new and current self-identifying Black students are invited for a panel discussion where you will hear from Black faculty or stafff members and students in a facilitated discussion. You will also have a chance to build community with one another and get tips for transitioning to UBC. If you have not registered you are still welcome to attend.
