We’re excited to be offering many social events to give you the chance to get to know students from different Faculties and Collegia sites! Find peers that share common interests with you and connect with upper-year leaders, campus clubs, groups and resources.
Note: Some events have limited capacity and all events require you to RSVP using the registration links provided. Registration for each event will open at 12:00pm the day before the social.

Cozy Collegia & Crochet
Location: LIFE Collegium
Listen to music, meet new friends, play boardgames, colour, or crochet! Whether you’re a pro at crocheting, just hoping to start out, or need a quiet afternoon, come get cozy in Collegia! All levels are welcome. There will be some yarn (medium; worsted) and crochet hooks (5 mm) provided but please feel free to bring your own.

Photo Quest
Location: UBC Flag Pole
Got a keen eye? Meet at the UBC Flag Pole, partner up and make the world (UBC) your oyster! You will receive several prompts which will take you around campus and ask you to photograph something. Once you have finished, meet your Orientation Leaders at the Forestry Building and show them your pictures. There may be a prize for you and your partner!

Night at the Museum of Anthropology
Location: UBC Rose Garden
Want to learn more about culture, art and Indigeneity? A walkthrough at the Museum of Anthropology is what you need! Meet your peers at the Rose Garden for a quick introduction and then walk over to the MOA together. There is a MOA app that you can download to facilitate your self-guided tour.

Come by the Hatch Art Gallery, learn about creative spaces on campus, and paint on a patch of canvas! The Hatch will discuss the curation work they do, The Ubyssey will share how to get involved with student journalism, and everyone can contribute to conversations of creativity. The gallery walls will be decorated with The Ubyssey’s past issues about campus life and culture!
