Explore what UBC has to offer! Visit hundreds of booths along Main Mall hosted by UBC student groups, clubs, and UBC services and take part in activities throughout the fair.

UBC Philosophy's Welcome Back Event for Returning Students & Potential Philosophy Majors

This Imagine UBC, join the Department of Philosophy in person for a 1.5-hour event dedicated to asking (and, occasionally, answering) Big Questions. We'll give a brief overview of our slate of undergraduate programs, opportunities, and events before hopping into Question Period, during which a selection of Faculty members will answer questions such as, "What are Philosophy's timeless problems?", "What is your favourite book with a philosophy theme?", and "What can you do with a Philosophy degree anyway?", all within a tight time limit. Be sure to come with your own questions (big and small). Philosophy majors, minors, and Honours students as well as elective-takers and the generally-curious are all welcome!

Things to note

Getting to campus: There are a number of different ways of commuting to UBC. Learn about your transportation options.
Time Zone: The schedule is displayed in Pacific Daylight Time.
In case it rains: If it's raining on the morning of Imagine UBC you will still be meeting your Orientation Group in the same location.
Things to bring: Water bottle, snacks, walking shoes, a rain jacket (just in case), a backpack, pen and paper.

UBC Recreation Free Week

From September 9-15, 2024, UBC Recreation's Free Week will feature a variety of opportunities for you to try different classes, activities and sports. Open to all students, programs and events happen in various UBC Recreation facilities across campus. No experience is required and all abilities are welcome. You won't want to miss out!
