The Indigenous Student Welcome Lunch is an exciting opportunity for new and returning Indigenous students to gather and connect over great food. All Indigenous students are welcome to come to one or both of the Lunches being offered this week!

IBPOC Get Connected

Curious what it's like to be navigating campus as a IBPOC (Indigenous, Black, and all people of colour) student? Are you wondering where to meet other IBPOC students or how to get involved in clubs and groups on campus? Then you are invited to our next BIPOC Get Connected, with amazing food, and a phenomenal student panel who will share experiences, student advice, and helpful resources!
2-Spirit, Queer, and Trans Get Connected

Would you like to connect with LGBTQ2S+ friendly student communities and allies? Then join us for our Get Connected Panel for Queer, Trans, Two-Spirit and Ally students to hear from student panelists sharing their UBC experiences, student advice, and helpful resources! With FREE FOOD and great games, it will be an event to remember.
Friday Funday Indigenous Student BBQ

Join us for a fun afternoon BBQ as we head into the last weekend of the summer. The šxʷta.təχʷəm Collegia Advisors will be on the grill making your summer favourites. This is a great chance to make connections for both new and returning students. All Indigenous students in any level of study are welcome!

Imagine Day Campus Tours

šxʷta:təχʷəm Collegia Advisors will be giving Longhouse tours to all Indigenous students. Check in with the Longhouse reception to get connected to a campus tour with one of the members of our team.
Tea and Coffee Time

All Indigenous students and staff are invited to stop by the UBC Longhouse for coffee, tea and snacks. Take the opportunity to connect with Enrollment Services Advisors (ESAs) who help students to navigate UBC. You will not regret connecting with this team early in the semester over a cup of coffee and a muffin.
First Nations House of Learning and Xwi7xwa Library Open House

Visit the UBC Longhouse and the Xwi7xwa Library for a tour and an introduction to Indigenous student resources with the First Nations House of Learning.
Indigenous Staff & Faculty Collegia Open House

The šxʷta:təχʷəm Collegium will open September 12 for students. We invite Indigenous faculty, staff and students to visit and view the new space. FNHL staff will be there to host and share about the student resources that are available in the šxʷta:təχʷəm Collegium.

Beading Circle Social

Join us in fostering community connection and kinship at the Beading Circle Social, led by CTLT Indigenous Initiatives staff, Janelle and Hannah. All Indigenous beaders are invited to join. Bring your skills or your desire to learn to the first of many beading circles hosted at the Longhouse.

Plant A Friend

Did you just move into a new room on or off campus, or did your roommate let all your plants die over the summer? Join FNHL student staff for “Plant a Friend”: paint and decorate pots for bright green succulents and tropical plants to brighten up your study spaces.

Things to note
Time Zone: The schedule is displayed in Pacific Daylight Time.
In case it rains: If it's raining on the morning of Imagine UBC you will still be meeting your Orientation Group in the same location.
Things to bring: Water bottle, snacks, walking shoes, a rain jacket (just in case), a backpack, pen and paper.
