Meeting up with your Learning Community 

Throughout Jump Start you will have many opportunities to spend time with your Learning Community. At the start of each day, your Learning Community will meet at Money Lee Square (just outside of the AMS Nest) to kick-start the day together. This time with your Learning Community is a great opportunity to make new friends and get ready for the day ahead!  

Finding your Learning Community 

The map below outlines where each Faculty and School will be meeting at Money Lee Square. Once you arrive, look for your Orientation Leaders who will be holding up a sign with your Learning Community’s name (e.g. LFS 01CA). If you need help finding your group, there will be Jump Start leaders and staff floating around to support.  

Note: The School of Economics and School of Music Learning Communities are within the Faculty of Arts, the Pharmacy Learning Communities are within the Faculty of Science, and the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture Learning Communities are within the Faculty of Applied Science.  

The attached image outlines Money Lee Square, the section of outdoor plaza on the west side of the AMS Nest. Each Faculty and School has a specific zone where those Learning Communities will meet. The following Faculties and Schools are listed in order from North to South in the plaza: Faculty of Arts, UBC Sauder School of Business, Faculty of Land & Food Systems, Faculty of Forestry, School of Kinesiology, Faculty of Science, and Faculty of Applied Science.
