Hello and welcome! I am a Faculty Fellow in the Jump Start program, and 2023 will be my 12th year with Jump Start. I was drawn to Jump Start as I was an international student in the UK for my graduate work, and then an international faculty member here at UBC. I was also a commuter student during my undergraduate degrees in New Zealand. In my non Jump Start life, Im a Professor of Medieval Literature, a dad to an amazingly little toddler, and the servant of a small Pomeranian dog. So, Im constantly juggling manuscripts, diapers, and dog walks, which makes for an interesting mix at times. You can learn more about what I do professionally by looking at my Departmental profile.
