I am an Associate Professor of English Language and Literatures at UBC. My most recent series of articles explores connections between mobility, media mediation and their histories, and figuration (the process and significance of using poetic figures and tropes) in work by William Wordsworth, Sydney Owenson, and Mary Shelley. Their current work on Romantic Transport, 1790 to 1830, intervenes in three fields of inquiry within Romantic studies: migration and mobility studies, the history of sensation, and the history of form and figuration. My next project is on the uses of Romantic poetry and poetics in settler colonial placemaking in the Pacific Northwest.
