I am a Professor of Teaching within the School of Kinesiology, and teach in the area of exercise prescription and coaching sciences. I have been living in Vancouver for over 12 years now. I am originally from Argentina, and moved to Canada (Montreal) with my family when I was ten. I call Guelph, ON home because I went to high school and university (University of Guelph, Honours in Bio Medical Sciences) there and some of my family still resides in and around the Guelph area. I have been an Instructor at UBC since 2009. I have been teaching this course since, twice a year (thats 24 times!), and am still enjoying it. I continue to improve it every year with the help of student feedback and my desire to keep it relevant and applicable from the first day of class. I have an extensive background in explosive sports: namely, played rugby since the age of 18 and had a short stint in bobsleigh. I represented Canada in both. Currently, I am an Assistant Coach of the Womens Sr. National Rugby Team and the technical backs expert for the UBC Varsity Womens Rugby Team. This summer, I went to Tokyo to compete at the Olympics as the Assistant Coach to the Womens Sevens Rugby Team. I bring my athlete and coaching experiences to the classroom to hopefully motivate you and engage you further with the content. When not at work or coaching (mostly volunteer work), you can often find me at the park with my 5 year old son (Will), husband (Dean) and two dogs (Pete, weiner mix and Charlie, a Schnauzer). I work hard to play hard.
