I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern Studies, where I teach ancient languages, law, archaeology, and history. I am originally from Washington, DC, and I returned there after university to work in the non profit world in gender equity for a few years. I then decided that I wanted to research gender based inequities in the past so I went back to school and earned my PhD in Classics from Princeton University. I landed at UBC in 2016. I am also Professor in Residence at Totem Park, where I live with my family and 2,000 first years!
