Hi Everyone, welcome to UBC! My name is Jonathan Verrett and Im a faculty member in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering in the Faculty of Applied Sciences. I am looking forward to getting to know you and introduce you to the university. Over the week well be going over a number of topics and Ill be available to answer any questions you might have. I teach courses from 1st year to 4th year with many focused on chemical process design. I am also part of the team of instructors teaching the first year engineering course APSC 100 which youll all be taking. My research focuses on engineering education, particularly open educational resources and design education. I am also active in advising a number of engineering student groups including ChemEcar, Thunderbikes and Engineers for a Sustainable World.Outside of the university I enjoy biking, skiing, swimming and sailing as well as cooking.
