I am an Assistant Professor of South Asian History in the Department of Asian Studies. My teaching and research at UBC deal for the most part with the intellectual and cultural life of medieval and early modern South Asia (in other words, the Indian subcontinent around the years 1000 1800 CE). I joined UBC following graduate studies in Chicago. I completed my undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis, which is my home town.
