Brett is an Associate Professor of Teaching in the department of Earth Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences. He has been at UBC since 2006 and teaches a wide variety of courses. At the first year level, Brett usually teaches EOSC 110 The Solid Earth: Introduction to Physical Geology or EOSC 114 The Catastrophic Earth: Natural Disasters if you are still looking for good classes. Bretts background is in rivers, landslides, disasters, and the formation of the land in the Metro Vancouver Area. His current research is on how people learn at the university level. As a result of this research, he regularly teaches graduate students and professors how to improve their teaching. For fun he does open water swimming and plays dungeons and dragons. Brett actually grew up in the Vancouver area, but got his degrees from a rival school. Shh dont tell anyone.
