Welcome to the Black Student Orientation.
This year, the Centre for Student Development and Leadership (CSDL) and the UBC Black Student Space (BSS) are thrilled to welcome—and welcome back, all incoming and returning undergraduate and graduate Black students to UBC at the Vancouver Campus for the Black Student Orientation on Thursday, September 19 from 4-7:30 PM!
The 2024 Black Student Orientation will include:
- Activities to get to know and mingle with other Black incoming and returning students, staff and faculty at UBC!
- A Black Student Panel made up of undergraduate and graduate students highlighting the experiences of your fellow students and sharing helpful insight
- Delicious Dinner, provided for all attendees
- Social activities, information about resources at UBC, opportunities to connect with Black-identifying student groups, and more!
The purpose of this orientation is to create a space for incoming and returning undergraduate and graduate Black students at the Vancouver campus to start building community with each other as well as to get to know UBC’s Black Student Space!
The event will be held at the UBC Black Student Space at 5960 Student Union Boulevard, V6T1Z1.
Current UBC Black students are also encouraged to join the session!
